With Destiny 2, Bungie jumped in there and hit the reset button on their game. The Last City and the Tower have fallen, while the Traveler has been constrained. If you played Destiny 1, your gear, guns, and accomplishments do not carry over into Destin 2. For some of you, this may sound like a horror story because you probably put a lot of time into Destiny, but really, this gives you the opportunity to start over and work your way to something new. Plus, this is great for newcomers that are just now getting into Destiny. Now, if you’re a newcomer (meaning you didn’t get to play Destiny 1), then you’re going to need to know where to start.

It’s Better with Friends – Form a Fireteam and Join a Clan

Like many other games, in order to really enjoy Destiny 2, you will want to play it with friends – you can play the majority of it in a group of three. It’s always fun having people to talk with or having people who have your back during a fight.

If you’re not into the whole co-operation thing and are more into gaming for competition, then Crucible is where your fun is at – this is where you will go for competitive multiplayer with teams. Those individuals that are into co-operative challenges can go for a raid, which takes six players – in a raid, you are going to face some of the hardest challenges you have ever seen in a game.

Plus, joining or creating a clan is a good way to quickly get ahead. When you’re in a clan, you will get extra experience. This is also going to improve the rewards you get.

Leveling Up

There are various leveling systems in Destiny 2 – each system relates to a unique version of gameplay. The power level is what you will want to focus on. With Cure of Osiris, your power level goes up to 355 and this level is determined by the average level of the gear and guns you have equipped on your character. If you want to increase your Power Level, you will need to put some time towards the activities, getting into Strikes, Public Events, and Crucible matches. By participating in these events, you will earn loot that will help your power level go up.

Infuse the Guns You Like

Do you have a favorite gun that you just can’t seem to get rid of because you like it too much, but it’s stuck at a lower level? You don’t have to get rid of it. You can infuse it with a more powerful gun – this will give it a nice boost. What this does is takes the power of one item and puts it towards the chosen one.

In the end, don’t forget to mod your gear. Once you have reached power level 280, you will be able to craft Legendary Mods by going to the Gunsmith in the social space. Mods will add a nice perk to the gear and crafting will combine three of a particular type into a powerful version.
