Battle Royales are still going strong, and Ubisoft has stepped up to the field, offering Hyper Scape. Hyper Scape is a sci-fi shooter that takes place in a virtual arena. The question is – how does this title compare in mechanics and designs to the other battle royales? Today, we are going to take a look at some of the similarities and differences between Hyper Scape and some of the giants of the genre.

Hyper Scape Vs. Apex Legends

When it comes to the hero shooter, Apex Legends, Hyper Scape has some things in common. Although Hyper Scape isn’t exactly a hero shooter – you can choose your character, but that character doesn’t come equipped with unique abilities like the legends on Apex. However, due to Hacks, hero elements do come into play. In Hyper Scape, players have the ability to carry two activated abilities that they have collected on the map – this is like customizing themselves into a type of hero. These hacks can be upgraded mid-game.

Hyper Scape is also a game that is focused on movement, and if you have played Apex Legends before, you already know that it has different movement options – you have everything from long-range ziplines to sliding. If you enjoy this type of fast-paced mobility, then you’re probably going to appreciate Hyper Scape’s similar aspects. You can navigate through the virtual city with the help of Slam, Teleport, Ball, and even Shockwave.

Hyper Scape Vs. Fortnite

Since the player doesn’t have much control over the map, Hyper Scape is clearly different from Fortnite. Fortnite has a core game mechanic – building, which gives players the opportunity to strategically build structures and platforms. Rather than letting the map adjust for players, Hyper Scape is designed in a way to make the players adjust to the map.

Just like Fortnite and Apex Legends, competitors will be pushed closer together as the game progresses. With Hyper Scape, when a district begins to break down, you will need to think about changing terrain, not unlike buildings be ripped down mid-battle.

If you’re a Fortnite player, you might like to use one of the Hack abilities – the Wall. Mind you; it’s not exactly like Fortnite’s building options, but the Wall does give you the opportunity to manage the battlefield a little.

Hyper Scape Vs. Warzone

Hyper Scape takes place on Earth as well, but it doesn’t carry over many elements from the real world as you see in Warzone. When you play Warzone, you get all kinds of real-world weapons that you can use – from tactical grenades to guns and if you’ve played other shooters, you will already know how to use them.

Hyper Scape, on the other hand, is more sci-fi, so you will have to learn how to use fantastical weapons, such as the Skybreaker (you can use this to rain down lightning).

The way the players are treated in the game is somewhat similar. The players in Warzone are generally identical. This means that you don’t have to worry about rounding up a team with build-in abilities – instead, you can change whatever character you desire – the same goes for Hyper Scape players.

Final Words

Hyper Scape is a Battle Royale, and it does have some elements from the other battle royales, but at the same time, it has its own unique elements. The game is available on PC, Xbox, and the PS4.
